Professional Dental Implant Restorations

When your dental implants have healed, it’s time to complete your treatment with permanent restorations. Stephen T. Stein, DDS, creates custom prosthetics and abutments to complete your dental implant journey.

Replacement teeth are called prosthetics, restoring the smile after tooth loss. An abutment is an intermediary piece used to secure your replacement tooth to the implant.

How Do You Make Replacement Teeth?

Because teeth are so unique, it’s important to create replacements that are designed for the individual. To do this, Dr. Stein first takes an impression of your bite with a quick-set putty. Using a reverse cast, he creates a 3D model to visualize the best fit for your new tooth.

Dr. Stein chooses a material that complements your surrounding teeth. Most frequently, patients choose porcelain or zirconia because of its natural look and feel. We recommend abutments made of either zirconia or titanium to maximize translucency and durability. When your abutment complements the tooth, it provides a more natural result

How Long Do Restorations Take to Complete?

In most cases, Dr. Stein completes your restoration in two to three weeks. He provides you with temporary crowns to wear during that time. Once completed, Dr. Stein attaches your new restoration to the dental implant post using its customized abutment piece.
